A Case of Acrospiroma

Abstract
Acrospiroma is a clinicopathologically distinctive but morphologically complex group of neoplasms showing differentiation toward the distal(ductal) part of the sweat gland.
We are reporting a case of dermal acrospiroma in a 63-year-old man who had a 2.3¡¿2.4cm sized, slowly growing, pigmentary red-colored, smooth-surfacedmass on the back for 2 decades. Histopathologic findings were compatible with acrospiroma coined
by
Johnson and Helwig. The epidermis was connected with a large tumor mass composed of multiple lobules of small basophilic cells, many of which were vacuolized. Cystic cavities within the lobules contained eosinophilic and amorphous materials
positive for
PAS and alcian blue at pH 2.5, and resistant to diastase.
